Driven. Ambitious. Always learning. These aren’t just words for Loredana. They define the way she lives. A former Olympic swimmer, she carries the discipline and determination from those years into everything she does. In her world, with enough hard work, nothing is beyond reach.
Healthcare has always been more than a career for her. It’s been her calling. Even as a child, she was “operating” on dolls, carefully bandaging them and planning their “recovery” (stickers and hugs included). Today, she combines that same hands-on care with the challenge of building something extraordinary alongside her husband, Dr. Kamal Woods.
At Vertrae®, her role could easily be summed up as “VP of Everything.” One day she’s in the OR scrubbing in for surgery; the next, she’s managing supply chain logistics, refining marketing strategies, or answering patient questions from the sidelines of a soccer game. Wherever she is, home, clinic, or golf course, she is fully engaged, fully committed, and moving a hundred miles an hour (usually with coffee in hand).
Loredana’s passion for growing Vertrae® is deeply personal, shaped by her and Dr. Woods’ own experiences navigating the healthcare system as patients and parents. She’s seen the gaps, the frustrations, and the moments when people feel unseen, and has made it her mission to ensure every patient who walks through Vertrae®’s doors feels safe, understood, and cared for like family.
Outside of work, Loredana is happiest when she’s moving: golfing with her family, paddleboarding, skiing, or chasing their dog Burrow around the park. She loves traveling, exploring local gems, and the occasional online shopping “therapy,” but also treasures quiet moments with a cozy blanket, a funny show, and zero notifications.
At her core, Loredana believes in connection, progress, and pushing boundaries, whether it’s through cutting-edge technology like the Optimus Spine surgical robot or simply taking the time to listen to a patient’s story truly. At Vertrae®, she believes they don’t just treat spines, they change lives. And she’s proud to be part of every step of that journey.
