At Vertrae®, we talk a lot about patient-centered care, but it’s the people behind the scenes who make that promise real. One of those people is Bethany, a skilled and deeply compassionate nurse whose calm presence and quiet strength bring comfort to patients and confidence to our team.
She’s the kind of nurse who notices the details, remembers your story, and celebrates your progress right alongside you.
Bethany is smart, organized, and deeply empathetic, but what makes her special is something even simpler: she genuinely cares.
💼 From Dream to Purpose: Why Bethany Chose Nursing
Bethany knew she wanted to be a nurse all the way back in middle school.
“At that time, I imagined nurses sitting by patients’ bedsides and holding their hands while they healed. I quickly learned there’s more to it—but that image of being a comforting presence during someone’s hardest moments stuck with me. That’s still what drives me today.”
And it shows. Whether she’s preparing a patient for surgery or making a follow-up call weeks later, Bethany brings a steady warmth to everything she does. For patients walking through the doors of Vertrae®—especially those navigating chronic back pain, spine surgery, or sciatica relief—she’s often one of the first faces they trust.
🤝 What Nursing at Vertrae® Really Looks Like
Bethany’s role blends both clinical skill and heartfelt care. Depending on the day, you’ll find her:
- Prepping patients for spine surgery
- Monitoring and recovering patients post-anesthesia
- Guiding pre-admission testing
- Coordinating follow-ups and surgical clearances
- Supporting injection procedures for back pain or sciatica relief
In other words: she does it all, and she does it well.
But the part she’s proudest of?
“I love seeing patients finally get relief after weeks, months, or even years of pain. Knowing I played even a small part in their healing—that’s what makes this job worth it.”
🌟 What Makes Vertrae® Different (According to Bethany)
Bethany loves the clean, calm, and patient-focused environment at Vertrae®. But what stands out most to her is the people.
“I feel so lucky to work alongside such kind and supportive teammates. The atmosphere is peaceful—and every person here truly wants the best for our patients.”
That commitment to kindness isn’t just internal. It’s what every patient feels from the moment they arrive. In fact, Bethany remembers her own first impression walking in for her interview.
“I instantly felt welcomed. Megan at the front desk greeted me with such warmth, and I thought, ‘This place is different.’ I want every patient to feel that too.”
💡 What Grounds Bethany on the Hard Days
Nursing isn’t always easy. Some days are long. Some cases are tough. But Bethany has a quiet strength that carries her through.
“My faith in Jesus has changed everything for me. Even on the most difficult days, I have an unwavering hope in Him. That’s what keeps me going.”
It’s that grounded spirit– calm, focused, and full of grace– that makes her such a trusted part of the Vertrae® team.
🌿 Outside the Clinic: The Adventurous Side of Bethany
When she’s not in scrubs, Bethany is likely outside, and probably in hiking boots.
She loves going on runs with her husband Caleb (and sometimes their squirrel-obsessed dog, Maple). You’ll also find her hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, or chasing mountaintop views.
Her ideal lunch spot?
“On top of a mountain. It’s the only place a PB&J tastes amazing.”
She’s adventurous, determined, and always up for a challenge, even if that means learning pickleball just to finally beat her husband.
