Meet Ashley, Radiologic Technologist

At Vertrae®, every patient’s journey is supported by a team of people who care deeply—not only about the diagnosis or the treatment plan, but about the person behind it. Today, we are excited to spotlight Ashley, our Radiologic Technologist, whose warmth, skill, and bright personality help patients feel welcome from the very first hello.

A Natural Calling to Care

Ashley has always felt called to care for others. Describing herself as naturally empathetic, she knew early on that she wanted to pursue work that allowed her to support people in a meaningful way.

During high school, that calling became more focused when she discovered a deep fascination with medicine, health, and specifically, radiology. That spark of interest eventually led her to begin her healthcare career as an X-ray technologist.

More Than Just an Image

Today, Ashley plays an integral role in both patient care and clinical flow at Vertrae®. She supports our providers by capturing the diagnostic radiographs that help guide evaluations, diagnoses, surgical planning, and recovery monitoring. Whether she is taking first-time X-rays for a new patient, completing protocol imaging for a post-operative follow-up, or helping our clinical team better understand a patient’s progress, Ashley is proud to be a vital part of the care process.

But for Ashley, her work is about much more than capturing a clear image. It is about helping patients feel seen, heard, and supported during moments that can often feel uncertain or overwhelming. She strongly believes that patients deserve to feel their concerns are understood and validated, ensuring they leave each appointment feeling more informed and confident about their care.

“I hope Vertrae® can be for our patients what it is to me: a community of family and belonging.”

Witnessing the Transformation

One of Ashley’s absolute favorite parts of working at Vertrae® is witnessing the transformation our patients experience over time. She gets to see people at the very beginning of their journey—often when they are dealing with pain, frustration, or uncertainty. Then, she has the privilege of seeing them return for follow-up visits where they are moving better, smiling more, and beginning to reclaim the parts of their lives they may have been missing.

That full-circle view of patient care is something Ashley never takes for granted.

Life Outside the Clinic

When she isn’t supporting patients at Vertrae®, Ashley is happiest when she is outdoors. She loves being outside in just about every capacity. You can often find her:

  • Gardening and working around her small farm

  • Hiking and paddleboarding

  • Riding horses and birdwatching

  • Curling up inside with a juicy murder mystery book

  • Playing the guitar

One of her favorite life reminders actually came from a quote she overheard while climbing Mount LeConte in North Carolina:

“You’re a little too focused on the destination right now instead of the journey, and it’s killing my vibe.”

For Ashley, it serves as a lighthearted but meaningful reminder to slow down, stay present, and appreciate the process. It is a message that fits beautifully with the work she does every day at Vertrae®. Healing is a journey, and Ashley helps make that journey feel a little more comfortable, encouraging, and human.

Thank you, Ashley, for the compassion, dependability, and positive energy you bring to our patients, providers, and team. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Vertrae® family!
